日本製 carpet tiles

Japanese carpet tiles for cozy, flexible home rooms.

Japan-made TOLI modular carpet tiles give you the comfort of a soft rug with the flexibility of 40 x 40 cm pieces. Use them under a sofa, beside a bed, in a home office, or anywhere a full carpet installation feels too permanent.

TOLI carpet tiles can form a rug-sized soft zone while the surrounding hard floor remains visible.

Why choose Japan-made modular carpet tiles?

Many shoppers search for Japanese carpet tiles because they want a room to feel softer, cleaner, and more intentional without installing wall-to-wall carpet. TOLI Fabric Floor tiles are useful for that exact middle ground: a planned rug area that can be rearranged tile by tile.

The featured AK35 and AK27 collections are both 40 x 40 cm, about 15.7 x 15.7 inches. That size makes it easy to calculate a small rug, a bedside runner, a desk zone, or a wider living-room checker pattern before you buy.

What makes these different from ordinary commercial carpet tiles?

Many carpet tiles are designed for glued office installation. TOLI Fabric Floor is presented for home use and uses suction-treated backing rather than adhesive. On a compatible clean, smooth hard floor, tiles can be placed as a partial rug, lifted, and rearranged. AK35 and AK27 can also be removed and hand-washed one piece at a time.

The distinction matters because the product is neither a peel-and-stick utility tile nor a one-piece washable rug. It is a modular home flooring textile. Visible seams, complete 40 cm increments, the raised outside edge, and compatibility with the underlying floor all belong in the buying decision.

Good rooms for modular carpet tiles

  • Living rooms where a sofa corner needs warmth and sound softness.
  • Bedrooms where a full rug is hard to size or move.
  • Rental apartments where flexible floor planning matters.
  • Home offices where a chair, desk, or reading zone needs a defined surface.
  • Small family spaces where individual color codes make layout planning easier.

Choose AK35 or AK27 by use

AK35 is the easier neutral starting point for living rooms and bedrooms. TOLI's current range has 16 coordinated colors, a solution-dyed polypropylene pile, and a warm multi-level loop texture. AK27 has 14 solid colors, BCF nylon, and a 5 mm cut pile. TOLI lists stain-resistant and deodorizing treatments for AK27 and recommends its cut construction where some pet claws may catch a loop pile.

Both collections use 40 x 40 cm tiles. A 3 x 4 layout creates a 120 x 160 cm rug, while a 4 x 5 layout creates a 160 x 200 cm rug. Tape that outline onto the real floor before ordering so furniture legs, door swings, and walking routes can be checked.

How pricing works

AK35 and AK27 use fixed market pricing in USD, CAD, or AUD before duties and local taxes. Sea freight is shown separately at cost-based launch rates, so a buyer can see the product price and freight before requesting a PayPal invoice.

Planning a Japanese-style or Japandi room?

The product origin and the interior style are separate decisions. Our Japanese interior design guide shows how to use a low-contrast palette, visible wood flooring, and a furniture-aligned rug footprint without treating every Japanese room as the same aesthetic.

Removable does not mean suitable for every floor

TOLI lists many wood floors, vinyl tile or sheet, cushion flooring, marble, and ceramic tile as possible bases, but recommends sample-testing some wood finishes. Existing carpet, tatami, mortar, and concrete are listed as unsuitable. Clean away dust before placement and check both TOLI's instructions and the underlying floor manufacturer's care guidance.

For rentals, test an inconspicuous area and get permission when the lease requires it. Keep rug edges away from stairs, door paths, and busy walkways. A modular layout is flexible, but its backing and raised perimeter still make it a real floor product rather than a risk-free decoration.

Product and installation details were checked against TOLI's current AK35 page, AK27 page, and Fabric Floor Q&A.
