Four rug layouts that work well with carpet tiles
1. Soft checker rug
A checker rug is the simplest way to make carpet squares feel intentional. Use two close colors for a quiet living-room look or combine a neutral with one warm accent for a playful family corner.
2. Border rug
A border layout uses one color around the outside and a softer color inside. It works under desks, small tables, and reading chairs because it creates a finished edge without buying a custom-size rug.
3. Stripe runner
Stripes are useful beside beds, in narrow apartment spaces, or in a small home office. With 40 x 40 cm tiles, a runner can be widened or shortened by changing only one row or column.
4. Color-block zone
Color blocks help separate a play corner, desk area, or sofa zone inside an open room. AK35 is calmer and neutral; AK27 has more cheerful color options for stronger accents.
How to choose tile count
Start with the furniture footprint, then add one tile row where you want softness around the furniture. The design tool calculates the number of 40 x 40 cm tiles and sends the color breakdown into the invoice form.
