Short answer: TOLI Fabric Floor carpet tiles are removable and hand-washable. Use water or diluted neutral detergent, rinse thoroughly, and shade-dry completely. Never use a washing machine, spin cycle, tumble dryer, or dry cleaning.
What "washable carpet squares" means here
Washable can describe very different products. Some rugs have a removable cover intended for a household washing machine. TOLI Fabric Floor uses another approach: lift only the affected 40 x 40 cm square and wash it by hand. That is useful when a drink spills beside a sofa, a pet marks one corner, or a desk route wears faster than the rest of the rug.
It also changes how you should shop. Do not choose TOLI because you want to put ten tiles into a washer. Choose it when separating one dirty section from the larger floor zone is more useful than washing an entire rug. The tile remains a structured flooring product, so gentle handling, complete rinsing, and careful drying protect its shape and backing.
How to wash TOLI carpet squares by hand
- Lift the dirty tile.Remove loose or solid material first with a spoon or tissue. Clean the floor underneath while the tile is out.
- Wash gently.Use water or a small amount of neutral laundry detergent diluted as directed. Work with a soft sponge or brush and avoid hard scrubbing that can damage the pile.
- Rinse thoroughly.Remove all detergent with clean water. TOLI notes that detergent left on the backing can reduce its grip and make the tile more likely to slide.
- Towel and shade-dry.Shake off water, absorb more with a towel, then dry flat or as straight upright as possible in a ventilated, shaded place. Reinstall only when fully dry.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Machine washing, spin drying, tumble drying, and dry cleaning can deform the tile or damage the appliance.
AK35 or AK27 for pets and everyday mess?
Both featured collections are marked hand-washable and pet-recommended on TOLI's current product pages. AK27 goes further for messy areas: its official specification lists stain-resistant and deodorizing treatments, and its cut pile is designed to reduce claw catching. AK35 uses a warm multi-level loop texture and does not list those two treatments, so AK27 is the more practical starting point for pet beds, feeding corners, and frequent spills.

Plan spare tiles before ordering
A spare tile lets you fill the gap while a washed square dries. Use the design tool to keep mid-tone colors in high-use areas, place lighter colors farther from food or muddy shoes, and add one or two spare pieces to the invoice request.
When to clean in place, hand-wash, or replace
For loose dust and ordinary surface dirt, vacuum first instead of adding water. For a small fresh spill, remove solids or blot liquid promptly and follow TOLI's spot-care instructions. Lift and hand-wash the square when the soil has reached more of the pile or the floor beneath also needs cleaning.
Replacement is the better choice when a tile is permanently damaged, badly distorted, or worn through. Rotate or replace high-use squares before the surrounding tiles age too differently, and keep the product code with your spare pieces. A later manufacturing lot or a brand-new square placed among heavily used tiles may show a small color or texture difference.
